Star glow

One of the features of Nebulb's "Sky" module is the ability to apply a glow to the stars to make them stand out more.



In addition, the glow can be applied to both aligned star images and star trails images.


Glow in aligned star images

In the case of processing an image of "aligned stars", the "Glow" slider allows you to generate a halo (of adjustable intensity) around the stars. In addition, this glow is of a greater or lesser relative intensity depending on the brightness level of each star, i.e. the more intense the star is, the more visible the halo generated is (so that the effect is as natural as possible).

Here is an example:

Enlarged detail in which the glow of the stars can be better appreciated. As can be seen, the more intense stars have a brighter glow, while in the fainter ones it is practically negligible (thus generating a more natural effect).

TIP: It is usually better to apply the "Glow" slider together with the "Star reduction" slider, as this way you can adjust both the number of stars and their level of glow to make the sky the way you like it.

Glow in star trails images

On the other hand, in the case of processing a star trails image, the "Glow" slider also allows to generate a halo around all the star trails (in a similar way as with dotted stars, but along the entire length of the trail).

Also, the intensity of the glow generated depends both on the value set in this slider and on the intensity of each star trail, since, depending on the intensity of each trail, the glow generated around it is also more or less intense.

Below you can see the effect generated by the "Glow" slider applied to a star trails image:

And although in the previous example you have seen the glow applied on a circumpolar, this effect is applicable on any type of star trails image, as you can see in the following examples:

IMPORTANT 1: As you have seen in the previous examples, the glow in star trail images can generate a somewhat artistic or painterly effect, which is why you can adjust it completely to your taste (between 0 and 100).

IMPORTANT 2: When processing a star trails image, the only functionality of the "Sky" module that appears active is the "Glow" functionality, since the star reduction or smoothing options apply only to aligned star images.
